Snowflake Cost Calculator 2026
Estimate your Snowflake platform cost (warehouse compute, storage, Cloud Services adjustments and AI Credits) using published cloud-and-region rates and your own contract discounts. Free, no sign-up.
How much does Snowflake cost in 2026?
It depends on your edition, cloud region, warehouse size, runtime, storage, and contract pricing. As a reference, AWS US East on-demand Platform Credits cost $2.00 (Standard), $3.00 (Enterprise), $4.00 (Business Critical) and $6.00 (VPS), and on-demand storage there is $23 per TB per month. Other regions and clouds differ, and contracted discounts and other Snowflake services are extra.
How to use this calculator
- Pick your region and edition. The credit and storage rates come from your cloud and region.
- Set warehouse size and runtime. Enter hours per day the warehouse is running, not just querying.
- Enter average billed storage. Use your storage usage history or invoice.
- Add contract discounts and extras. Enter your Order Form discounts, billed Cloud Services credits and AI Credits.
This calculator models four categories: warehouse compute, standard storage, Cloud Services adjustments and AI Credits. It does not model every Snowflake charge, such as data transfer, Snowpipe, Search Optimization Service, serverless tasks and other specialized services.

Reverse budget calculator
At a $1,000/month budget, after storage, Cloud Services and AI Credits are covered, you can run approximately 442 platform credits/month, about 221 warehouse hours at the selected warehouse size.
Platform Credit rates by cloud and region
Snowflake publishes Platform Credit and storage prices by cloud provider and region in its Service Consumption Table. Some locations match across clouds and others differ, so this calculator uses region-specific rates rather than a multiplier. Rates below are on-demand, USD.
| Cloud · region | Standard | Enterprise | Business Critical | VPS | Storage / TB |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| AWS · US East | $2.00 | $3.00 | $4.00 | $6.00 | $23.00 |
| Azure · East US | $2.00 | $3.00 | $4.00 | $6.00 | $23.00 |
| GCP · Iowa | $2.00 | $3.00 | $4.00 | $6.00 | $20.00 |
| AWS · Dublin | $2.60 | $3.90 | $5.20 | $7.80 | $23.00 |
| GCP · Dammam | $3.25 | $4.90 | $6.50 | $9.75 | $30.00 |
How the estimate is calculated
Warehouses are billed per second while running, with a 60-second minimum each time a warehouse is started or resumed. This quick estimator uses total running hours and does not model individual resume or resize events.
Warehouse sizing: each step doubles the rate
| Size | Credits / hr (Gen1) | Cost / hr at $2.00 |
|---|---|---|
| X-Small | 1 | $2 |
| Small | 2 | $4 |
| Medium | 4 | $8 |
| Large | 8 | $16 |
| X-Large | 16 | $32 |
| 2X-Large | 32 | $64 |
| 3X-Large | 64 | $128 |
| 4X-Large | 128 | $256 |
| 5X-Large | 256 | $512 |
| 6X-Large | 512 | $1,024 |
Auto-suspend is your most important setting
A running warehouse consumes credits even when it is idle. Auto-suspend stops consumption after the configured inactivity period. An X-Small warehouse left running 24/7 uses 730 credits a month, about $1,460 at $2.00 per credit.
Cloud Services adjustment
Cloud Services covers authentication, query parsing and metadata work. Snowflake applies the adjustment daily: Cloud Services usage is billed only when it exceeds 10% of that day’s warehouse compute usage, and the monthly adjustment is the sum of the daily adjustments. Serverless compute is not part of this adjustment, though Search Optimization Service and other serverless features can create their own charges.
AI Credits
AI features use a separate AI Credit currency. On-demand, Global routing is $2.00 per AI Credit and Regional routing is $2.20, regardless of edition or account region. Each function and model consumes AI Credits at its own rate, published in Snowflake’s Service Consumption Table; per-token rates for specific models such as Claude Sonnet 4.5 change as Snowflake updates that table, so check it directly rather than relying on a rate quoted here. Capacity AI Credit pricing can be lower and is based on annual contract value.
Capacity contracts
Platform Credit capacity pricing uses the discount specified in your Order Form. Storage and AI Credits can have separate published capacity tiers, so there is no single contract discount that applies to every charge. Enter your own percentages above.

Methodology and limits
Platform Credit and storage rates come from Snowflake’s published on-demand rates by cloud, region and edition, cross-checked against current guides on September 25, 2026. Storage uses its own regional rate, not a compute multiplier. Contract pricing is user-entered because Platform Credit discounts come from your Order Form. Cloud Services is a billed-credit input because the 10% adjustment is calculated daily. AI Credits use on-demand Global or Regional rates. VPS uses the published credit rate; deployment fees are not modeled. Storage, data transfer, serverless features and other services beyond the four categories above are not included.
