⚠️ Auto-Suspend Is Your Single Most Important Setting
Warehouses charge for every second they’re running, with a 60-second minimum per activation — but they stop charging the instant they’re suspended. A single X-Small warehouse left running 24/7 without auto-suspend on Standard edition costs roughly $1,460–$2,260 a month by itself. The New AI Credits System (April 2026)
On April 1, 2026, Snowflake introduced AI Credits as a separate billing currency for Cortex AI features, distinct from warehouse credits.
